The Way Life is

Suzanne Rose 1986 (Gainesville)

Look up and down
And you will see
That I hate you
And you hate me

That's just the way life is
Full of drama
Full of hate
Full of fear
Full of pain

So much anxiety
Too much tension
Feeling closed off
Alone and trapped
In your own thoughts

People say you're crazy
Maybe you are
Maybe you're too sensitive
Too empathic
Too caring

Somehow you got lost
And forgot who you were
In the process

Hurting everyone in your path
Including yourself

So much pain
So much hurt
The unfortunate trauma
You had bared by yourself

So much strength
So much time wasted
Feeling like a child again
Having to rediscover yourself.

Been writing for 20 years, however I did get writers block and lost my passion for quite a long time. Trying to find myself again more…

This poem captures the deep emotions and struggles that many people face in life. The raw honesty and vulnerability in the words are truly powerful. The way you express feelings of hate, fear, pain, and anxiety is relatable and evocative.

As for improvement suggestions, consider incorporating moments of hope, resilience, and growth in the poem. While it's important to express the difficult aspects of life, adding a sense of overcoming challenges and finding inner strength could provide a more well-rounded perspective. Additionally, playing with the structure and rhythm of the poem could enhance its impact and make it even more engaging for the reader. Overall, this is a thought-provoking piece that has the potential to resonate with many individuals. Keep writing and exploring different themes and styles in your poetry!
