A Smiling Face

Free verse
I'm taking it easy if it comes to fate
But for the time I've gotta wait
If you stay to long, inside my memory,
I will trap you in a song tied to a melody.
And I'll keep you there so you can't bother me
And I sat watching a flower
As it was withering
I was embarrassed by it's honesty
So I'd prefer to be remembered as a smiling face

Kristen Marie Rushlow

Kristen Marie Rushlow was born December 12, 1989 in St. Joseph, MI to Michael & Terri (Frobel) Rushlow. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2008 and went on to receive her Bachelors in Education from Western Michigan University in 2013. Kristen worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at Mirman School for Gifted Children in Los Angeles. She loved spreading the joy of Latin and Greek language and culture to others, both students and friends. She passed away in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She brought joy into the lives of all she touched sharing her bright smile and hugs making the world a beautiful place by her presence.
