HANDS

BRYAN SHAPP 1985 (Texas)

It is with these hands that I first learned to fight. It was when I was young, not caring if it was wrong or right.                                                                   It was with these hands that I first learned to love. To give a hug to my neighbor, or to shake hands with no gloves.                                                               It was with these hands that I blocked out the light. Surrounding myself with shadows, hiding from public sight.                                                   It was with these hands that I dusted the darkness away. Reaching out to find the hands of people that stayed.                                                   It was with those hands that I rose to my feet. Helping me learn to pay it forward to the people I meet.                                                    Now it is with these hands that I'm writing a word. To help others move forward if they have listened and heard.                                                          It is only by action, that you will get to new lands. So don't be afraid to get dirt on your hands.
