Chasing Fiction
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
It doesn't take a struggle,
To observe and witness.
The many caught up,
In a rat race chasing fiction.
Wishing upon the sight of falling stars.
And rainbows after rain.
Hoping to discover a pot of gold.
Deluded and sold in their minds to behold.
No!
Yet,
Such stories told stay embedded.
Cemented.
Chipping away truth and reality to fear.
Chasing fiction,
Has been a successful seduction.
An invention of every aspect of life.
Intended and meant to remove the truth.
As a useless tool.
Only fools would pursue as beneficial.
With the producing of unneeded,
Consciousness.
Although,
Leaving many left to wonder why...
Common sense and its effectiveness,
Has gone to nolonger exist!
And unfortunate it is,
They are the same ones who permitted...
The normalizing of sick mentalities.
Roaming around everywhere to see,
Their destructive activities.
Accepted to suspect,
Those who live refusing to be deceived.
Are the culprits.
Culprits determined,
To threaten the quality of fiction.
Chased.
And creators of this maddening race.
Embraced.
Until left is only reality and truth to face!
Leaving the ones out of their minds,
Behind to find...
Others ways to defend and protect,
Themselves from being subjected...
From the overwhelming presence,
Of reality and truth.
Unexpecting the popularity of both,
Would receive and get...
More attention and respect,
Than lies to tell and sell so well...
These days of awareness more craved!
'Uh...
Why are you not in the race,
Like others chasing fiction?'
'Oh that?
That is not as satisfying,
As what I have discovered...
In my mind to begin to slowly appreciate.
And believe it or not,
The taste of it I have begun to crave.
You should try it!'
'Where can I get something I can not see?'
'Stand here with me for a few minutes.
And open your eyes very wide.
The presence of truth and reality?
Is all the place.
The smell and the aroma of it,
You will find, eventually...
Too irresistible to refuse.'
'Maybe some other time.
Right now,
I have found it better for me...
If I keep up with appearances to chase.'
'Hey...
I stopped making that choice.
When I recognized myself the one,
Volunteering to be victimized.
Look.
Over there.
Go ahead and join them.'
'To do what?'
'Fighting over pretensions to make.
And who is more qualified to do it best!
Be my guest.
I want be envious or jealous.
That I will promise you!'
