AS HE PASSED BY

AS HE PASSED BY

There's no hope the doctors say
And they sent me on my way
On my knees I fall to pray
Oh Lord please send me a way

Twelve long years! My life has bled
Twelve years! My despair grew and fed
Twelve long years, my hopes all fled
Twelve years! Unclean they all said

This Jesus, seems He spoke straight to me
This Jesus, says the captives can be free
I ask you, who's bound more than me?
A rope of blood is the chain of my captivity

I hear He's passing close
Maybe I can touch His clothes
I know He can heal me if He choose
Even Jairus bows and knows

I touched! And His spirit filled me!
I touched! And was truly free!
Jesus broke the chains of captivity
With my touch,He heals me.

He stopped in the instant
With a look of pure intent
He knew that His power went
But not on whom it was spent

As he searched, I tried to hide
Was my touch the hand of pride?
Unclean I was, or so they cried
He is coming, I must decide

On shaking legs I try to stand
My story forms in a second's span
Oh Lord, let Him understand!
As He touched me with a gentle hand

In His eyes I saw the Living Water!
Then He called me His daughter
He is Lord, my faith will never falter
For today, I became God's daughter!

This morning I thought I'd die
All that changed in a blink of an eye
I became His child, my faith is why,
He saved me… as He passed by
AMEN

About this poem

And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. "Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you." But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me." Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace." Luke 8 43-48
