A WHISP OF A HOPE
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
A WHISP OF A HOPE
Whisper, a hope, maybe a whisp of one
Lord something in this chaotic jumble!
I feel my world slipping, and I can't run
In the shrapnel of pride that made me humble
I cry out for Your Hand! Save Him Lord!
I cry out save her, save them! Save me!
Oh how I see your Word indeed is a sword!
I cry out for their Salvation! Lord help her see!
I'm not ready to face this, my heart isn't prepared
Yet I know, yes I know it's coming now or late
I think I could accept it if you saved her
How could this not be Your will? I hesitate
Oh God, my heart is on my sleeve! See!
I'm breaking in the anticipation of pain!
Oh Lord I could handle if it were just me
But through my hurt I can't see the gain
All things, Lord all things work for good
Yet here I am my heart lies in ruined heaps
Why does nothing work as it seems it should!
When all I see causes my soul to weep!
I seek comfort, in everything YOU are sovereign
In the Good times I can see that You rule
So even now you are Lord, even of my Pain!
Not something they mention in church or school
But here I am, before Calvary's Hill
I see Your Cross before me, the world behind
I know, I know ALL things work in Your will
Sometimes I forget, I'm no longer blind
So here before Your Cross, I fall
Give You this shattered heart You demand
Take my pain, my tears, my loss, TAKE IT ALL!
Take this man , broken, shattered man
A whisper, a hope, a whisp of one
Blows down This Hill called Calvary
The Hope of Love from God's only Son
Bore the sin, the pain, of one as broken as me
AMEN
