Warrior

He was unexpected
Oh, how a stranger could
What a lover wouldn't
Like fire to wind, in my temple
I knew...
So familiar, I saw through
It was like my soul recognized his
And nothing about it seemed accidental

The eyes declared a truce of trust
Compelled me to connect
Despite the war raging within
He penetrated my defenses
With perceptive attentiveness

Confound me of my reconnaissance
I surrendered with a blind trust
Take a risk, don't overthink it
He led me past my limit
Pushed me until I thrived
In the heart of danger
I found safety

Sight set to reciprocate
Your Purple Heart
A medic in this fog of war
Protection, fidelity, support
Healing what was torn apart

What he is,
I do not know,
A kindred spirit with a mirror shone
Awakening within what's meant to be
Locked and loaded with serendipity
How he is,
Is all I need

Adored friend
My love for you is timeless
When you're gone
Meet me under the sky somewhere
I'll wait for you here
or meet you there
Come be alive with me
