A Spark is Made
A spark is made in the dark of night.
It crackles upon a peeling log
Illuminating the cavernous wood with light
As it spreads the dim forest with dark fog.

The spark grows into a roaring flame,
Devouring trees without restraint.
The trees are bright orange and begin to fall,
Striking fear in the hearts of us all.

Sirens ring as the fire grows,
The trees turn black
With the spray of a hose.
Heat is blowing around the air
Of the woods filled with darkness and despair.

As the sun rises, the leaves are gone.
The birds chirp a morning song.
The trees are burned and cracked and dark.
All because of one small spark.

Soon the woods are green again.
The grizzly bears come out of their dens.
The leaves fall on the forest ground.
Colors of red, yellow and brown.

The fire destroyed, but also renewed.
It demolished the woods.
It burned the woods.
But it strengthened the woods.
