Meet Halfway?

Charli Jackson 1981 (London)

What if you were no longer there?
Would I survive the same, and just not care
Or would I be the one who cheated myself
Maybe I should heal, but I need help
Shouldn't we meet halfway, or something
I feel like I'm talking, but there's no interrupting
No telling me I can't leave, no recognition,
Still so blind, losing my mind, this wasn't the vision,
Still denying and lying and assuaging the guilt
So I make peace, and a future is built
What does it look like? Will I still be in pain?
I just don't think I could do it all over again!
I grieve for you, even though you are alive
I wonder if you'll ever understand my side
I miss you, but I do not miss the lack of care
The love I have now, is for people who were there,
Through all of the darkness and crazy that is me
They tell me I am beautiful and totally worthy.
