Transition

La Toya Smalls 1973 (Savannah)

Searching for light,

Clinging to wrong,

Wild and untamed!

Bad temper!

Anger misplaced,

Hot headed!

Cold heart!

Raised Baptist,

Schooled as a Seventh Day Adventist,

Rejected by Catholics,

I made mistakes today and yesterday.

I give plenty.

people just take.

A game I refuse to play

A race I will not run.

Many heartbreaks: young and old.

The choices I make;

Round and Round I go

When will I stop nobody knows.

What lessons must I learn?

Dead Ends!

Wrong turns!

Dating boys, never men

All my life I had to fight

Beaten and bruised!

Physically and mentally

My life must change

Thank God almighty

I made it through

touch not his anointed

I am in the number

Yes, I made it in

I think I'm finally beginning to learn

Love is the Key

God's love is tight
