ARRIVAL OF THE GODS

Wesley Mcleod 1962 (Jamaica)

I have seen chariots sail aćross the sky
Beyound the city men call Machu Pechu,
With bright shining light,soaring higher
For Copan and the burning sun
That burn Mohenjo Daro with a ball of fire;
No one knows how oft they run
Questing Earthly maidens or Peruvian gold.
The ancient travelers
Gather them into a rolled
Silver, quartz, and oar up the hold.

But now through fleecy clouds they swiftly flit
There is a dream upon them evermore,
Painted the silver-white or shore-sea green,
Pattern with symbols of days of yore.

For sure i have seen
Bearing their phantasma over the valem
A image descending on a hew'd runway,
With astonished breath i  hail
A chariot from far far away.

This is the arrival of the gods
Dont think they will pass our shore
Or black holes that made them curious
For they're some who take this serious
Traveling faster than the speed of light
Seeking dock in the stillness of the night.

Now they rest on the cresent far side
And so i watch and wait in vain,
To see the hatch  burst open wide
And the gods return bearing gift again.
