A Note from A Teenage Girl
I sit here debating whether I should start my homework or keep scrolling, or maybe sleep
I don’t want to do much since now I’m just waiting for someone to tell me what I will be
I continue to wait but what can I say, I’m just a teenage girl
I am searching for help, but even from my “supporters” I can’t find the help I need
I am lonely and I need someone to care, anyone?
At least one person
I am still sitting with no happy ending, and no will to continue fighting
I am told I don’t smile anymore, and my happiness is in the past
I know life isn’t over, but I am not sorry that I feel like it is
I can’t wait to leave
I can’t wait to sleep
I can’t wait to breathe. . .
I can’t wait to not be teenage me

This poem is about what being a teenage girl is like when you are trying to finish high school. It is a self reflection poem about how, with so many people in the world that have a purpose you can still feel so lost and lonely.
