Almost Close

There comes at times,
When almost close is enough for most...
To keep motivated to touch and taste,
The craving not to give up hope.
Or sleep to get.
Wishing for more of it.
Sometimes.
Especially,
When the last time one forgets.
To set the alarm clock to remember...
What day it is.
And being late for work all the time,
Is never recommended to say to the boss...
'It is never too late!'
Hoping this excuse to make,
Heard again and again.
Doesn't get one fired and replaced.
As supervisor of Human Resources!

'You are almost 'this' close,
From being divorced to find another job!
Do you know that?
Do you hear what I'm saying to you?
Why are you here?
Why am I here?
Why are we here?
To get what accomplished?
And...
For what reason or purpose?

'Threats!'

'Excuse me?'

'Threats!
That's what my 'ex" said.
As if that 'job' I expected once in a while,
Kept me satisfied!'
