Forgiven

Let me tell you what I see in you:

I see sunshine and I see rain
I see moonless nights, I see pain
I see hard work
And debts paid
Pages turning
And deals made

I see joy growing and softening you
Like ivy along stone
Faith finding it’s way back to you
Making your hidden heart home

The walls you built of stone and glass
Let them fall down, collapse
You are not the sum of your past
Or the follies of your youth

So let it all crash down
It’s time to rebuild now

Freedom's waiting in the sound
Of hurts we've held to
Shattering on the ground

You are a light
And your soul remembers
So let it breathe again
Tend the embers

Healing begins when we fall apart
Shadows will flee as light conquer dark

Don’t look back
That time is now gone
And don’t look ahead
Tomorrow may not come

Be here now
Let your stifled heart feel
Stop drowning the pain
When you accept it, you heal

As the moon kindles the dark
And wind kindles the fire
May your heart be kindled
By the words I’ve written

I told you I saw your true heart hidden
Don't apologize, I've already forgiven
