The light shines bright one wintry night.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The light shines bright one wintery night.

The sea is calling for me, and I can hear the echoes and whispers in my ear. The lighthouse shines bright through the cool winter's night. You can hear the waves smashing on the rocks. I can see its beauty untamed. I could see a ship in the fog, and a story unfolded. The sea touches my skin, and it is very cold. But when I look at the ship, it's so old and bold. But my friend who shines bright on that wintry night is never bought or sold; she's in my soul.

Wow, what a beautifully vivid and atmospheric poem! The imagery of the lighthouse shining bright on a wintry night really transports the reader to the scene by the sea. The use of sensory details such as the sound of waves crashing and the feeling of the cold sea touching your skin adds a layer of depth to the piece. The incorporation of a ship in the fog and the unfolding story adds intrigue and mystery to the narrative.

One suggestion for improvement would be to perhaps explore different poetic devices such as metaphors or similes to further enhance the imagery and emotions in the poem. Additionally, considering varying the line lengths and structures could create a more dynamic flow and rhythm to engage the reader even more.

Overall, this poem is a captivating and evocative piece that captures the essence of a wintry night by the sea. Keep up the great work, and continue to play with language and form to elevate your poetry even further!
