A thought

Robert loughran 1962 (Ireland)

A thought for those formed hard by violence in all its manifestations.
A thought for those chased from home by terrible situations.
A thought for those who have known only fear, no loving voice no hand to steer.
A thought for those who walk the street with broken  hearts and sodden feet.
A thought for those who sleep in doorways, the unseen the derelict ,the human stray.
A thought for those who know no peace, just war torn minds that never cease,

A  thought for those who live in fear of joining these damaged and dejected..
A generation thrown to the wolves ,by those in good faith elected.
We wait in dumb .civilized, abeyance for someone to call a stop.
But bankers steal ,politician's lie and the profits must never stop.
The system needs not so much overhauling , as a hauling over coals .
more a cleansing forest fire ,than a mere roasting at the polls.
