Daisies

This is not the time.

Not now,
This is not the time for picking flowers,
or to while away the hours
with the pictures in your head.

Not now.
This is not the time for playing,
scrambling over rocks or straying
from your mother's side.

Not now,
Not now.
Later.
This is not the time.

Not now.
This is not the time for dreaming,
Searching for some hidden meaning,
Locked inside the world of words,

Not now.
There is no time,
Unless...

The time is now.
