Polaroid in the Rain

I’m staring at your Polaroid
Laying on this rain-stained concrete
Pulling at my heart strings

You’re no longer present
And there’s a void along the seams of this picture
I’m used to the starvation
The hunger you left in your wake
I can’t quite put a name to it
The way my bones started aching
I felt naked without your touch
But what else could I have done
When you left without a trace
In the blink of an eye
I was standing bare foot in this wasteland
Just staring at your Polaroid
It’s all I had left of us
Now it’s laying there
In this river my eyes have created
