White Fire

Earth's vast bed, filled with bones and sins,
Swollen memories forever fade.
Books holding valued citizens,
A predetermined hall of fame.

I saw a white fire blaze
Across the night sky,
One for the good side?
Are there devils in the stars,
Are the angels winning?
Who sits on Moon's Throne?
Father, I know you're in Heaven,
Perhaps it's your Spirit?

Suddenly, all is quiet under open space,
Swirling breath pushed in place.
Pressure released without a trace,
Renowned for glory, written on your face.

Excellent poem! The imagery you use is outstanding, especially with the second stanza. The ‘white fire blaze’ reminded me of the quote from Luke 10:18, where Jesus says “I saw Satan fall like lightning from the sky.”

There is a very Homeric feel to the read as well. Can’t wait to see what other works you come up with …
