Broken Rose

Mario Johnson 1972 (Alemeda)

I glisten just like the others whenever dew embraces my frame ,yet admirers still elude me because they can see that I'm not the same. But ,my heart, my essence it will depict my flawless air ,if you could look beyond my battered limbs you'ld see that it's really there. Struggling just to blossom through the impurities that plagued me ,motivated only by the occasional praises that you gave me well look at me ,I'm here ,inspired by your awes .just accept that I have survived and not condemn me for my flaws .because hindsight will give beauty to my face but, by then the treasure is gone and only regret lie in the wake ,of a broken rose.
