Your Soul

James Vincient Johnson 1952 (Algoma WV)

Your Soul

I live inside every living thing
I’m complicated to explain
I do not feel what your shadow feels
I’m with you as if I’m on your heels

I’m in your thoughts, I’m in your heart
I cause you to dream, I’m in everything
I’m your mate sometimes called a soul mate
If not for the divine thing I’ll debate

See we are one of the same
Similar in reason similar in pain
I’ll never leave you as long as life remains
See I’m in here without curtains or refrain

I wish you could see me when I whisper in your ear
But I’m invisible and share your every tear for tear
See I’m your goal-keeper; I’m your soul-reaper
I’ll always be with you and inside you, I’m your soul
