Adhesive

Sarah Brower 1995 (New Jersey)

Butterflies ripped wings
pretty little thing need not worry
time, patience, endurance

Does not flying take practice?
will not happen in a blink
healing isn’t beautiful

Beauty lies
in the eyes of fight
never easy
always worth it
can not learn to walk
and not fall

Hitting the ground
gives you reason
reason to get back up
harder
stronger
faster

Trudging through mud is messy
foul smelling
uncomfortable
sticky and staining

Though once dove in water
how refreshing it feels
to be cleansed
every ounce of pain
forgotten

Healing is painful
intricate, uncomfortable
getting there
is true satisfaction

I love to express myself through poetry. I can’t force inspiration so I only write when I feel moved. Authenticity is important to me!! If I can make anyone feel heard and understood, Then my goal is accomplished. more…
