A lesson

Standing in the rain as it came down harshly
Gliding along a cheek in mimic of what already fell
As if nature itself held empathy for what dwelled inside me
Mourning contagiously, absorbed somewhat mischievously
For a matter of moments this was allowed to be embraced

Not but a breath beyond
As if in a warning that life has a limit to melancholy
A breeze so gentle, but sharp as ice
Slammed against what seemed to be my soul
Teaching only what life itself could

Before I could fully obtain a thought on the matter
Nature, the illusionist it was brought it’s warmth
Rays blinding, as they illuminated cohesively
Hitting even the darkest of depths
A lesson to surely never be forgotten
