Broken Clown

Gary Major 1967 (United Kingdom)

A Broken Clown
With a smile a frown
A face that fits
Smile upside down

A painted face
A big red smile
No sorrow here
Just glee and cheer
No Despair
Just laughs no fear

This is the Image
Though its Untrue
The one I chose
To show for you

Look again
See though my feint
No smile just paint
Tears of Sadness
Lines from Laughter
No just frowns

Beneath the Gown
The Heart of a Clown
A steady rhythm
Torn with Grief

Broken promises
Friendship Betrayed
Loved Ones Lost
Nerves so Frayed

Sunrise I awake
I reach for the  paint
Just smile and Laughter
A face full of Cheer
No sorrow no fear

This is the image
Though Its Untrue
I show to my self
To get me through

One day the Sun
Will not me wake
The smile gone forever
No laughter no Frown
No Joy no Clown
