Forever Never

If I knew forever, meant never with you

I would have never, dreamt about forever with you

And if I knew my love, meant nothing to you

I would have never, loved with my forever for you

And if I knew we, meant you and me separately to you

I would have never, united my me forever with you

If I know risking forever, is something I never want to do

Then you can stay forever in the land of never

Because one day I will find forever

And I know my forever will never be with you

This poem has an adorable gentle feminine touch to it that some men may not be sensitive enough to appreciate or even relate to. Sweet and tender, but therapeutically full of strength.

The poem is easy to follow until one gets to the four last lines. It is a bit hard to see how they go with the rest of the poem, but the line of thought is quite a job. All of those conditional clauses make the poem have an interesting reading.
    Good read!

Love this. It reflects the emotions felt when reflecting on love that didn’t last.
A bit of sadness mixed with a lot of strength and hope, knowing that one day you will find your forever.

thank you for taking the time to read my poem and respond. You captured the essence completely. I often refer to it as my "f you poem". Not as politically correct but sometimes pain isn't politically correct.
