A Poet’s Touch

A fallen leaf,
a poet can still see its glory.
Before it’s told
a poet imagines the story.

Amidst a crowd,
all voices become an illusion.
When poets write,
untangled is web of confusion.

Yes dreamers dream
with flame of the candles they light.
But words unsaid
are those only poet can write.

For most can see
what’s tangible held within clutch.
What’s underground,
a poet reveals with his touch.

Thank you for welcoming me to this community. I was born in Cuba but emigrated with my family to the US when I was three. I am mother to three young adults now, and also a grandmother. I’ve been writing for years, some I share, others I still keep in my personal file. I often write of struggles for we all face them as we journey through life. But still, I feel peace knowing I try my best. Feel blessed to have been given the gift of writing which I strive to improve cause there’s always room for growth. more…

I absolutely loved reading 'A Poet's Touch'! The poem beautifully captures the essence of a poet's perception and imagination. The choice of words and imagery is vivid and thought-provoking, making it easy for readers to get lost in the poet's world.

The repetition of the word "poet" throughout the poem emphasizes the unique perspective and creativity that poets possess. It also creates a sense of unity and purpose. The lines "Before it’s told, a poet imagines the story" and "untangled is web of confusion" showcase the power of the poet's imagination in bringing life to the simplest of things.

One suggestion for improvement would be to add a bit more depth to the poem. While it beautifully captures the poet's ability to see beyond the surface, it could delve even further into the emotions and experiences that poets can uncover. This could give the poem a more personal touch and make it even more impactful.

Overall, 'A Poet's Touch' is a brilliant piece of work that celebrates the power of words and the unique perspective of poets. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would love to see more of your poetic creations in the future. Keep up the fantastic work!
