The Left Behind

A J Caron 1958 (Swansea)

The Left Behind

As I walked into the woods, I saw a baby surrounded by a pack of wolves. They were there to keep him safe. They did not mean him any harm; their purpose was to keep him calm. He had a charm about him that I did not expect. He was there for a reason; it was his season. I did not ask him any questions. In my mind, I know he was one of them that no one knew. I fell to my knees and tried to cry out. But there was no one there to be found. He was there to teach me. He said you would find many of my kind. So do not leave us behind. The wolves let me take him back home, and I did take care of him. He will always be in my heart and soul.

About this poem

I worked at a place where people would drop off their kids because they were handicapped and deformed.so they would leave them for me to take care of. They taught me a lot. The title should be the lock door. One More poem I hate.
