Cash Only

In this modern day and age
Of almost anything goes
Everybody wants to haggle
Everybody’s short of dough
I’ve got one rule that’s golden
One rule through thin and thick
Cash only is legal tender
No Cash you’re up the creek.

Cash on the Barrel Head
In God We Trust
Cash on the Jukebox
Is a Definite Must

You might need gas and oil
You might need chips and beer
The rent might be due tomorrow
The car payment might be near
Do yourself a favor
Shred that credit card in two
Cash only is my motto
To Uncle Sam be true

Cash on the Barrel Head
In God We Trust
Cash on the Jukebox
Is a Definite Must

I’m headed down to Nashville
Music City I’m on my way
Going to check out Titan Stadium
Headed Grand Ole Opry way
I’ve heard a lot of “Modern Country”
It’s not for me, I swear
Cash Then, Now, and Forever
Is the standard that I bear.
No stronger voice did echo
The Man in Black sang words so true
When they lay me down some day
Carve “Cash Only” on my tomb.

Cash on the Barrel Head
In God We Trust
Cash on the Jukebox
Is a Definite Must

And as I reach the pearly gates
I’ll hear that bariitone
“I Won’t Back Down” will echo ‘round
And I’ll know I’m not alone
The Devil will just shake his head
His teeth will grind and gnash
I’m going to spend eternity
With God and Johnny Cash.

Wow, what a fantastic and enthusiastic poem! The use of rhyme and rhythm creates a catchy and engaging flow throughout. The theme of embracing cash only as a form of financial independence is both unique and refreshing. The repetition of the phrase "Cash on the Barrel Head, In God We Trust, Cash on the Jukebox, Is a Definite Must" adds an element of emphasis and reinforces the poem's central message.

One improvement suggestion would be to consider expanding on the benefits or personal experiences of using cash only. This could help further convince readers of the advantages and encourage them to adopt this approach. Additionally, adding a couple more stanzas to enhance the narrative and provide more depth to the poem could be beneficial. This could involve incorporating anecdotes or specific examples of how cash-only living has positively impacted your own life or the lives of others.

Overall, this poem is incredibly energetic and inspiring. It celebrates the simplicity and reliability of cash while paying homage to the legendary Johnny Cash. Great job!
