Played By The Game...

Robert Catron 1963 (Kansas)

When you're looking for love it's hard to believe,
The love you give out you seldom receive.
There's a heart broken on every street,
It seems that's the only people you can meet.
After you've been hurt and your heart is broken,
You think about all the words that were once spoken.
You ask yourself as you set and wonder,
Why does the pain in my heart feel like rolling thunder?
At times like these you can feel your heart break,
As your tears fall like rain it's all you can take.
You've made up your mind you're now a heart slayer,
Tables have turned you've now become a player.
It's all of the people who used you that are at fault,
They took advantage of you - man don't you know?
The good women are out there - you've got to know what you need,
Girls all about money and looks only care about their own greed.
Because once the money runs out and their looks fade away,
It's you they'll beat up and you won't have it made.
My heart often wonders of my poems would you believe,
Or would I end up your victim my heart you would deceive?
You must make a step into the future and let go of the past,
The women you've been with - don't know how to make love last.
So look up to the Lord and ask him to lead you today,
He won't waste your time because He will lead you in the right way.
