As That In Twenty Nine Palms (Bussokusekika)

Edwin Tanguma 1966 (CA)

As That In Twenty Nine Palms   (Bussokusekika)

Hoping for the best
But I’m prepared for the worse
I’ve five sleeping bags
I’m still not sure of the tent
I hope the sand is as soft
As that in twenty nine palms

About this poem

Oh the memories…The bare necessities…Bedding down in a sandy wash with nothing more than a sleeping bag without a bedroll or pillow…A poncho liner made a wonderful pillow back then…There was nothing more soothing than one’s thoughts and the beautiful night sky…I saw another shooting star tonight…It was a bright white one…I hope to see many more in the not so distant future…☺️…Only time will tell…Will I miss my old fishbowl and all of its wonderful memories???What do all ya’ll think???
