Two Souls

Joshua Johnson 2006 (Suffolk)

Two souls intertwined
One cursed;
The other with a need to be nursed.
Together they become blind.

One a lover.
A  true believer;
In this cruel world, he doth seem to bother,
thus, he became, a cursed lover.

The second cursed, from another-
who left in a hearse.
Suffused with a need to be nursed,
by one who hath the curse.

Cursed together;
The Nursed, The Lover.
Two Souls bound,
in a cursed forever.

About this poem

It’s a poem about an unhealthy relationship, in which a boy falls utterly in love with a broken girl. He wants to help her and in turn they become blind to what is right for them. I feel this poem is all too relevant to today’s world.
