ANGEL

Jamila Ahmed 2003 (Niger state)

        ANGEL

I morphed into an angel
as the trees danced to the tune of the wind.

As branches swayed,
the leaves clapped to the rhythm
I became a ray of radiant vision.

My feathers purest white,
My halo aglow

Heavens basked into the euphoria of my praise.

A chorus of song birds filled the air
With sweet melodies

And a warmth like the summer sun
radiated from my form

I soared above the clouds,
A blessing to all who gazed
upon me.
