Anecdote of a Trans World
*Anecdote of a Transworld *
--------------------------------------------
Its awkward to see my loin while showering
For I will get a scratched eye
Tumbling over a slab of stone
Which blocks my feminine brook
A male butterfly flutters in my erotic hide out
A single petal out of place is a blemish to flower
When sky commits a culinary mistake
A bitter rain is sprinkled
While cooking cloud, sky missed an ingredient
Those who feel rain frown with it's distaste
Rain wails in its anomalous birth
They bable, "a troubled dish half cooked"
Curious eyes with brutal radiants
Finally love turned synonymous with survival
I started loving myself, body and mind reconciled
Now I can look in to my loin with ease
An outpour of my feminity crosses the slab of stone
About this poem
The poem depicts the internal conflict faced by transgender individuals, symbolized by the juxtaposition of masculine and feminine elements. Though there is a positive change in the society in its outlook on transgenders, a majority of people who live in a world binary fail to empathise the pain and agony of being trapped in a wrong body. The poem is my solidarity to trans community. The speaker's journey towards self-love and acceptance is portrayed, emphasizing the resilience and strength required to embrace one's true identity. more »
