After a Rough Day

I must light a candle,
and circle my wits.
Yielding my defeat;
I’m not a hero outwardly,
But a warrior inside.

Days run roughshod,
There is no repeat.
Adversity gives rise to change,
and the loneliness lingers.
Because it is right.

Finding freshness in furry,
I’ll fight on in might.
Seasons roll on,
and day turns to night.
Rest up and sleep firmly.

While dreams cast over,
I’m restored by divine.
My soul runs over,
and my spirit grinds.
The day begins.

About this poem

I wrote this poem to honor the process of healing with reflections and divine intervention after a daily struggle.
