To Dada,
To Dada,
Daddy sing in baritone
Like you did, my first decade.
When not a cloud came in your cave
But sun, and moon, and blissful rain.
When a storm from south awoke,
And broke down the walls of your cave,
I knew not where your shadow went
I heard your voice; it'd lost it's tone
More, and more, till I heard no more.
The epilogue of my next decade,
Dried me of my weathered skin.
You, from underneath the stream
That flowed from nothing but your eyes,
Came to me, and mum, and all.
To pull us into a new cave.
Not of wood, or bricks, or clay,
But of body, soul, and love.
So as I lay upon your heart,
I want to fell it reverberate
As you sing in baritone,
A lullaby of your silent tears
When strength was sapped from your within
And we doth angered from the lack.
But thank you death for mercy sake,
Not taking life when we're at stake.
Now we can dance as one knit whole
To nothing but dad's baritone.

About this poem
This poem is dedicated to my father, to those days of inconsistencies with the storms of life. But thanks be to God we're united again in the love, and nature of true family.
