Rise
Raymond Davis II 1984 (United States)
In my heart you will forever stay
But in this moment it has become clear that I must walk away
I love you more than words can ever say
Clinging for life, alone I drop and pray
You can't catch what doesn't want to be caught
All I wanted was us, but I must let go of that thought
In all my life, the hardest battle I've ever fought
Was for a spot inside of your heart
Bounded by these chains around me
I beg you release and set me free
For a pawn in this game, I can no longer be
In time I will stand tall through the crashes
And like a Phoenix, I will emerge from the ashes
About this poem
