Flames of Change: Northeastern Saga
Your stories will blaze through the night,
Torches of truth, beacons of light.
No longer will silence shroud your plight,
Your cries echoing in freedom's might.
Man's conscience awakens in truth's glare,
Sees humanity where once unaware.
As facts ignite action, change flames ignite,
Wrongs renounced, new dawn's rays in sight.
Past the darkness, the new morn awaits,
Where justice flows free through the gates.
Chains of oppression melt in the blaze
Of redemption's fire, truth's righteous ways.
Have courage, keep faith, let hope nourish,
Let pen strike paper, voices flourish.
Speak your stories, unlock expression,
Quill's ink nurtures oppressed hearts to blossom.
Rise up, sons and daughters of the Northeast,
Blaze trail of light, dawn's glow nears.
Vindication comes to the patient, the brave,
Darkness decays in truth's piercing rays.
So take your place in history's saga,
Add your verse to freedom's hallowed stanza.
Yours is the chapter of a new era dawning,
Of shadows fading in truth's new morning.
Oh but what is this now? Breaking news?
Some pop star's dress at the latest awards show?
Quick, get the cameras rolling, call the crew,
We must cover this culture war hullabaloo!
Who cares for the trauma of common people?
Their grief is not glitzy or Hollywood sequined.
Their pain reveals no new gossip or intrigue,
So hurry, let's go where the big money's careened.
We'll return to the Northeast if it bleeds,
When it provides B-roll the producer needs.
Till then, there are flashier stories to spawn,
More viral videos and retweets to fawn.
So farewell for now, you neglected masses,
Your sorrows are not social media friendly.
We've advertising revenue and clicks to amass,
Your wounds must wait - the circus calls presently.
On with the show, no time for sentiment,
The capitalistic hamster wheel keeps spinning.
There are products to sell in bright font,
Who cares for the broken and the poor sinning?
The machine demands content to feed it,
No matter if substance continues to bleed.
The masses clamor for escape and numbness,
As the world's pain calls for awareness and wholeness.
And you, sweet truth, so weighted with care,
So burdened with humanity's welfare,
Must wade against currents of indifference,
To plant seeds of change and provoke difference.
But fear not, for truth knows no season,
Her work ever in silent unceasing progression.
In dark days she nourishes right action,
Kindling courage, defying distraction.
Rest awhile, children of the Northeast,
Your day is coming, redemption nears.
Truth waters hope's seeds when tears rain,
Light dawns after darkness, renewal after pain.
Your stories will yet stream from the darkness,
Torches blazing through media's falseness.
No longer can indifference cage your voice,
Truth's echo will call the people's choice.
Have courage, keep faith, victory is coming,
Light prevails when all seems lost and cunning.
Write your lines in history's transforming story,
Etch your names in annexals of glory.
Rise up, sons and daughters of the Northeast,
Blaze trail of light, new dawn glows easterly.
Vindication comes to the patient, the brave,
Darkness decays in truth's piercing rays.
