Arise

Arise!    by Hillary Davids- Christians

Wake up!!
Awake ye lazy folk
For death be upon thee
A shadow behind the evening cloak
Mother Earth is grieving
can't you see
Her belly swollen
filled with the devil's seed
Bearing burdens named Anger,
Lust, Jealousy, Murder, Greed

Arise all ye Lazarus's descent
Escape thy own untimely tomb
Life stories ever long since planned
Whilst still unborn
in thy mother's womb

Stand up and work before the dawn
Sow seeds of mercy and of grace
Remove each weed and every thorn
Grow plenty trees of kindness
And water them with grace

Rise up, stand tall
each child of God
Destroy all evil in your wake
Restore what's broken
Retrieve what's lost
Wake up before
it's soon too late

 Arise!!!

About this poem

The world today oozes cruelty and deception. People generally don't care for or about each other anymore. We often forget to greet each other. I can imagine that Sodom and Gomorrah must have been just like our world today, maybe months before they fell
