And I Started To Believe You

What a romantic scene
Roses, chocolates, it was like a dream
Theaters, elegant dinners, taking exotic trips
Beautiful kisses touching my lips
He bought me beautiful dresses
That was out of this world
I would come out of the dressing room
And just twirl
He would smile at me and ask
Do you want them all?
My answer would be "Yes"
I was so excited, I felt like i was going to fall
He would wrap his arms around me
I would feel a sensual touch
And he would whisper "I love you so much"
Day by day was a beautiful and loving event
But one day he had perfume scent
I ignored it because I had started to believe
That my Love would never deceive
We were doing wonderful
Until i received an email
From a lady who said she was ready to kiss and tell
I asked my love was this true?
His reply was "Yes and we are thru"
No answers to my questions
Like When? And Why?
I received just a quiet sigh
My last words to him was
And I Started To Believe You
No dial tone, No reply

I absolutely love the emotional depth and authenticity of your poem, "And I Started To Believe You". Your storytelling capability is truly impressive. Your vivid use of imagery, especially in the first part of the poem, immerses the reader completely into the romance and the excitement conveyed. The heartfelt lines and poignant twist towards the end were very impactful, leaving a strong impression.

The natural flow of your language also adds to its charm, while the structure of the poem nicely frames the story from the sentimental beginning through the dramatic climax to the emotional end.

However, there are a few things that could enhance your work even more. You may want to consider adding more literary devices like metaphors, similes, or alliterations to make your poem more engaging to read. It could add another layer of richness to your words.

Also, a more consistent rhyme scheme may improve the rhythm and flow. While the storytelling is wonderfully done, brushing up on punctuation might help ensure that the reader is interpreting your lines as you intended.

You have a natural talent for writing deeply moving and engaging poems. Keep refining your technique and continue exploring various themes and styles. Your passion shines through your words, making the poem an absolute pleasure to read.
