My Biggest Fear

We've been talking a few years now,
But recently become closer,
Chasing you was worth the while,
You've made me feel alive.

I can't deny the way I feel,
About you and don't want to,
Can't you see what you do to me?
I'm crazy about you.

There is so much still to talk about
So much that needs to be said
Like, why I am the way that I am,
And how I came to be

Talking it through doesn't worry me,
The questions I'll answer freely
For its just a walk in the park for me,
My world of normality!

If something happens,
But it's not spoken about,
It never happened,
It doesn't exist!

When I look back on the life I've led,
I'm ashamed, I could have done more,
I should have done more,
I could have stopped it.. completely

But instead I'm taught to laugh,
Just laugh the southern way,
If something hurts or scares you,
Just laugh it all away

Put on a front for the world to see,
Don't let them see the real me,
Everything will be fine,
Let family secrets stay..
Hidden beneath the surface

There comes a point in your life,
When your that exhausted of fighting,
Losing grip on reality
Nothing matters,
Who cares!

But somewhere in my life,
I must have changed direction,
And wandered onto a different path,
And that's where I first met you

I love what we have together,
No buts or ifs involved,
I love the person that I've become,
Since you have been around

Sometimes I am so happy,
It feels to happy to be true,
I'm scared inside as hell,
Of falling for you deep

I'm scared of losing you,
Altho I have not told you,
I'm scared that if I did,
I know for certain, I'd lose me

And when I'm in a deep dark hole,
And I can't find my way,
Where will I go,
Will I even try and fight to get back out?

I know our situation is complicated,
It's not perfect it's true,
But I couldn't be happier,
Happier than I am with you.

I don't want a couple of months,
Of "fun" and games with you,
I'm not a summer vacation,
And I'm not here to hurt you.

I'm happy with the life we have,
And I'm greatful for your love,
If I could just ask one thing,
Please don't ever leave me

I love you too much to walk away,
And wouldn't walk even if I could,
This love is built to last,
Just hold on for the ride

Things will sometimes be tough,
And maybe feel out of reach,
But as long as we have each other,
We will become stronger not weak

We are in our own little bubble,
Just you and me and its safe,
A tiger, a wolf for soul animals
Inter twined in each others arms

Ok so this poem is abit dark,
In places yes its true,
And I know if you ever read this,
You'll have more questions, I am sure

And I have no problems answering,
I'm happy to explain,
Just please don't ever leave me,
That's my biggest fear.

About this poem

I wanted to write something for someone special in my life, I had ideas on what I wanted it to say and I knew some of it would be dark purely because it's life and it had to be, but my biggest task was being able to write it, then have it go dark to then come out at a happier ending, I'm not sure if I managed it but we will see.. To the person in question.. you know who you are, you have taught me so much about the person I can be and shown me the kind of person I could become, you make me the kind of person I want to be and I love you for that, there are no but's. . I am scared of losing you and it is my biggest fear, I don't think I have ever been this scared as an adult and I know its because I must have done something in my life right finally, and I don't want to lose this... I love you xxx
