Brown Eyes

My eyes are brown
Yet hers are blue
Mine represent a melted and brewed stew
Hers are a raw unheated goo
for me and you
I’ve always loved my eyes and why not
They’ve allowed me to see the truth unfettered
Between the lines and over the margins untethered
So yes, her eyes are blue
And yes, my eyes are brown
Mine Investigate inform and eliminate.
And turn every unwanted suggestive hand right down
So if there’s a perfect one out there for me
Let them go through the same staid patterns
To Try and try again to let me see
That even though my eyes are brown
I’ve been blessed to see the world in its maze of mesh
I’m so glad my creator didn’t put that paintbrush and stencil down.
