Let Bygones Be Bygones
Perhaps you were the shadow of my life,
Together but never truly mine,
Those late night walks,
Laugh and cries amid the sweet wine. I don't remember the aroma of your perfume,
For my heart reminiscence, Aroma of your hand, meshed in my hair,
Fixing the flower garland of
delphinium,
Those melodious songs,
Our dances for which I now long. Nostalgia hits me hard,
Your love was my life reward. For me no distance matter,
This heart longs for those fatuous chatters. Don't make memories with me,
For I was first to say,
But you mend in my heart your way,
You say memories would faint,
But I simply ask-
Does the dark sky left the moon to sleep,
Did the bird left the sky to fly,
Did the roses leave the butterfly cry? But I won't play the game,
Let the guilt be on my name, For the shadows never align,
The flower garland didn't fit me
fine, The dances were emotions high on wine.
About this poem
I wrote this poem for all my friends whose relationship didn't worked. I know we sometimes make unforgettable memories with others and cry when they leave. But it's high time we end the blame game and move on accepting reality.
