Sun rise
Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)
Like children we are judged
By what we fail to understand
Causes us to suffer
Prayers Ascending
In Need Even though the question
if God is there for us to see as we believe
We do more than coexist,
by chance finding more than answers
As spirits dance among us
Freely giving hope
A faint wind carries living streams
If fortune smiles upon the world
We also will be its hosts
As others come before us
Have given their lives for us
to come to this In a gentle mist
As we receive their blessings
Life is testing our resolve
Demanding our all
Still we resist the gift
Wrapped up in love
Lightly descending drizzle
Calling
Where are we now?
C2
Loves dreams
With each new horizon
starlight falling upon
me and my love
Sparkling morning dew
kisses blades of grass
Soft reflections in your eyes
melt away the sharp edges
We are shadow dancers.
Spirits hear us
Drawing our loved ones closer
Hovering about our lives Like fireflies
ever more near to us
Sharing warmth of mutual delight,
When we find ourselves together
With more loving understanding
Than otherwise we might
