Forever

As a feather to skin
Prompts a rebirth of feeling;
Your eyes meeting mine
Recall my heart’s
first beating.

As clear water reveals,
sultry wine appeals;
Laced fingers, joined hearts,
and truth
fell armor’s steel.

Unzipped from the spine,
As faintly stars shine;
Unknown depths in view
Emerging one,
but from two.

As the phoenix moon rises
with lessons, the setting sun;
Each inhale, life renewed.
Devotion’s breath,
never done.

As I cherish you now
I’ll cherish you always;
Each lifetime, to be:
Forever you, forever me.

Shirin Mirdamadi

Like you, Shirin Mirdamadi is many things. A first generation Persian American woman, a California native, a sister to 3, a confidante to many friends sprinkled across the world. A writer, a lover of nature, romance, reflection, transformative thought, and dogs. She takes life more seriously than most but tends to infuse a cheeky humor wherever she can. She is a cautious explorer, and a silver lining enthusiast. She loves hard, daydreams often, is clumsy, kind, and cannot be defined by a simple profession. more…
