Attack of panic

The bird song lifts my crinkled brow
How will this day unfold
A glimmer of light sets hope inside
The darkness stayed too long this time

Pain engraved so very deep
I'm sore to touch sometimes
The pressure builds, I fight for breath
I hold on with might and main

Is this how life shall always be
I gasp at the painful thought
My lungs my faithful chariot
Hope is now restored

About this poem

This poem shows depression and panic. It is raw and true. Will today be a dark day? A feeling of death as panic arises. Alas the breath is caught, hope is restored!
