All that we ignore

How does it feel,
To know that I'm still fighting,
Against your heart,
Against my head,
And fortune cookies that we read,
Hoping that someday,
Someone will see the blood,
Splattered on the pavement,
Bloodshot eyes,
Searching for flower buds,
Poppies wearing crimson red,
Remember when you said,
To watch the world,
And see all that we ignore,
Did you really mean war?
Gunshots from pounding on the wall,
Crying because I don't see hope at all.

Did you really mean war?
