It Does Apply to Me!

God's promises are found throughout
His Holy Word to see,
And yet, I've had infrequent doubt
That they applied to me.

The Bible says we are to care
About ourselves each day,
And that we never should compare
With those along the way.

Yet I have tripped on that scripture
Due to low self-esteem.
My self-destructive ways insured
A lonely, anxious theme.

But I have not declared defeat;
The Bible says we must
Be patient 'till God's plans are fete,
Which comes to those who trust!
