Growing Older

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

To me growing older is the mystery.
Observing to witness the difference between,
Truth and what is considered reality.
Depends upon,
Who accepts what to live.
Protect and defend it.
Within an environment to share and compare.
Limited to restrict,
To boundaries of comfort zones.
Fenced or gated to warn not to trespass.

Like beliefs taught them to teach.
Until we dare ourselves to explore.
And adventure nagging curiosities.
To then discover,
Lies told, deceptions to live them.
With fiction to delude and deny,
What has been taught to teach and learn...
Is beneficial to making excuses.
Done to use alibis to not expect,
Them accepted as a part of life.

Believe it or not...
Liars who deceive,
Are often heard calling deceivers to be liars!

And...
As I grow older?
Common sense to have,
Is nothing more than patience to tolerate...
Nonsense to witness and observe it more!
