Angelita Perdida (Lost Little Angel)

Angelita Perdida

To the lost little angel,
Who will always struggle in life.
So good at going through the motions,
But will never be a true wife.

Playing catch with the hearts of men,
Thinking they are yours to keep.
Then drop it all and run away,
When your lies become too deep.

Tell the demons inside you,
Nice try but they did not win.
The hard-fought battle for my soul,
Has made me strong again.

Adios angelita perdida.

I came out of my recovery from depression and anxiety with a vengeance. I was going to get my revenge on life and the tools that life had used against me. This poem was one of many that expressed my feelings about the woman who life used to suck me in and then torment me.

The side that deeply thinks about things. The side with an imagination and a desire to use my hands for more than just brute physical labor. more…
