Harbor lights
Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)
With gratitude,
i search traces of a dream
i've long kept close to heart
never knowing What it means
to have love taken to the extreme
You’ve taken off with me, in flight
Beyond this space in time,
to a special place for
Just you and i
you’re giving me
delicious days
Of pure delight.
More than
i've ever known
More passionate
nights
Give me a feeling
that drives home
without you
i think of my old,
Navy days
Times before,
Where i forgot
just how to love
To feel free to cry,
standing alone
watching
The harbor lights
Feeling
abandoned and ignored
Now, here we are
Alone, together
Trading words
as if we have forever
You fill my heart
With Pleasing verbs,
So very nice and right
You punish me
with endless dreams
of spending time with you,
Hearts on fire
with the most perfect pleasures
a man like me Might ever desire
with soft easing words
You so gently tease
the juices from the vine
What a gentleman prefers
What really
takes my breath away
is you never lie
Even your voice
so sweetly purrs
like i've had a bit too much wine
reading lips between the lines
While i now sleep alone
Tossing and turning
Between the sheets
Your voice, delivering
as if, with unseen fingertips
Running up
and down my spine,
the love potion
i cannot resist,
having another daily dose
Of nocturnal climbing
Where, and when
i reach the top
Every night, with
you and i making love
Catching the same wave
with the urge to come ashore
touching us both
Together
Each stroke
causing our emotions
To invoke
what feels like flying
To blend
with perfect timing
to calm, My spirit
to soothe my mind
so freely flowing
Verses tightly wound,
revealing within a love
In continuous growth,
To reveal its truth
with an unearthly power
With hopes simply sublime,
so happy that you have
decided to go
against the grain
To give this precious time
And let fly its full majesty
To shower wholly
in its pulse and Glow,
Never more humble,
With
A world of choice,
Why'd you
choose
Me
